Marble is a living stone: porous, sensitive and full of personality. That is exactly what makes it so special. With a few simple habits, your pieces will cross decades with the same presence they had on day one.
Cleaning: less is more
For everyday care, a soft cloth lightly dampened with warm water is enough. When you need something more, use a neutral soap, well diluted, and dry right away with a clean cloth.
Avoid:
- Acidic products such as vinegar, lemon and all-purpose cleaners;
- Abrasive sponges or steel wool;
- Alcohol and strong degreasers.
Watch out for liquids
Wine, coffee, citrus juice and olive oil can stain the stone if left on the surface for too long. Blot any spill as soon as possible, without rubbing: just press the cloth.
A natural stone piece is not just an object. It is a piece of Earth’s history inside your home.
Sealing
Table setting pieces and items in frequent use benefit from periodic sealing with a product made for marble. It creates an invisible barrier that reduces liquid absorption without changing the stone’s natural look.
Small marks are part of it
With use, marble develops a soft patina, the sign of a piece that has been lived with. For natural stone lovers, these marks tell stories and make each object even more unique.
